$50 Kohl's gift card giveaway

*** This Giveaway is now closed. Thanks! ***

I’m a sucker for the classic wooden toys—they are staples at our house. Funny how the toys without all the batteries bells and whistles would be my sons favorite. Sure my little guy likes battery-operated toys too … but he always comes back to his wooden train track and Lincoln logs.

It’s no secret that I love Kohl’s. Now you can search toys on their website based on age—holy moly … talk about an amazing time saver.

Today I'm excited to bring you an amazing giveaway from Kohl's!

One lucky winner will receive a $50 Kohl’s gift card! Do you know how many cute things I could buy at Kohl's for $50 bucks? I’m totally jealous that you can enter this giveaway and I can’t. ;)

Thought their wooden toys were cute? Check out their shoes—I would love any these! Seriously ... number one ... I love you the most ... and I'm probably going to buy you. :)

1. Simply leave a comment on this post and include your email so I can contact you if you win. If you do not include a valid email address your comment / entry will be disqualified.

2. Want an extra entry? Follow me on Facebook and then leave me another comment on this blog letting me know that we are now Facebook BFFs too.

You have now until Monday, January 7th at 9pm MST to enter. One winner will later be randomly selected and announced here on my blog. Good luck!

Disclosure: I was contacted by a representative of Kohl’s and asked to host this giveaway—the gift card was provided by them and I did not receive any form of payment or compensation of any kind in return. All opinions and toy selections were made entirely by me.

I've been really hooked on the gorgeous type on chalkboards trend. Have you been suckered in too? I found my peppermint sticks at Dollar Tree—holy flippin' delicious.

I'm taking a break from blogging to spend time with my family for the holidays. I'll be back soon with a stylish tutorial and a FANTASTIC giveaway.

superhero themed activities

My little guy loves to create and explore. I'm constantly trying to find ways to keep my busy guy ... busy.

KID FRIENDLY FRIDAY: Superhero Themed Activities

My little guy has really started getting interested in superheros ... as you can probably tell.

Three out of these four projects are free printables—perfect if you you need something to do and don't have a lot of time to prepare. This Iron Man mask saved my bacon the other day. ;)

And while we are on the subject of superheros ... Check out this super cute print available at Mint Parcel. Wolverine ... you are my favorite. :)

shopping for fabric + DIY sweater pillow

I'm switching out the pillows in my living room (again) so I stopped at a couple fabric stores this weekend to check out my options.

Although I don't think all these fabrics would work in my home, I just had to share some of the great patterns I came across while I was out shopping.

Last week on my facebook page I gave a little sneak peek at one of the pillows I've been working on. It's made from an old sweater my sister was getting rid of—It didn't fit me quite right so I turned it into a pillow. Tricky, eh? I Love how it turned out—such great texture.

And in case you were wondering ... the black and white houndstooth pillow was made from fabric I purchased at Hobby Lobby and I purchased the green pillow from Ross a couple years ago.

too many loose ends

I feel like I'm starting off this week with too many unfinished projects left over from last week. Eeek! I can't wait to show you what I've been working on. (Insert squeal of excitement here.)

However, I'm very proud of myself for having every bit of my Christmas shopping done—now I just need to find time to wrap it all. ;)

stay home and take it easy

My little guy loves to create and explore. I'm constantly trying to find ways to keep my busy guy ... busy.

KID FRIENDLY FRIDAY: Stay Home and Take It Easy

My little guy has been feeling a bit under the weather this week so we've been staying close to home. Cuddling up on the couch reading books, watching movies and listing to records. All of these have one thing in common ... Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!

On loan from my mom, these are the records I listened to as a child—so many sweet memories.

What fun things have you been up to this Holiday Season?

frame a love note tutorial

I get weak in the knees when my husband hides thoughtful little notes around our house for me to find. We have been writing love notes to each other ever since we started dating in high school—I'm getting quite the collection. ;) Instead of tucking this one away in my box of lovey-dovey keepsakes I decided to frame and display it where I could see it more often.

This is a really quick project ... and a great last minute gift idea too.

• love note (or something else dear to your heart)
• paint
• pencil with an unused eraser
• photo stickers or some other type of adhesive
• 1 piece of heavy weight paper (cut to fit into your frame)

Dip the eraser end of your pencil into your paint and stamp it onto your paper.

Wait until your polka dots are good and dry before attaching your love note.

Now stick it in your frame. Easy peasy!

Happy Crafting!
