taking down the tree
All of my Christmas decorations are once again boxed up and put away ... including my husbands mini leg lamp :)
But before I tucked them away I took some quick pix to share with you.

This is my favorite! My grandpas vintage star was the inspiration behind these gift tags.
I made my own polka dot ribbon using red and white felt circles, red ribbon, glitter, 3M spray adhesive and hot glue.
I'm so excited for 2010! I have been working on lots of new printables for my shop :) But until then you can see more images like the ones above by visiting my flickr here.

big sigh of relief
I'm happy to report that all my holiday wrapping is completely done (insert big sigh of relief here).
I picked up the snazy green and white striped wrapping paper from Dollar Tree and made my own pom-poms using this super fabulous tutorial by Bella Dia.
Last but not least, I adorned my gifts with both typewriter hang tags and my printable holiday gift tags.
Wow ... this years shopping went exceptionally smooth. I'm usually not this prepared ;)

for a girl who loves paper
My niece's birthday is coming up so I've been busy collecting, organizing and packaging all sorts of lovely odds and ends. This girl enjoys making artwork out of just about anything ... toilet paper rolls included :) ... and she loves paper possibly even more than I do.

diy: typewriter hang tags
My mom asked if I was interested in having my grandpa's old typewriter. Um ... Yes! Yes! Yes! So here's my first project using my new toy...
With an old manila file folder and some leftover ribbon I made some little holiday hang tags. I'm planning on pairing them up with these and these on my gifts this year :)
Here's how I did it:
• Type your message onto an old file folder.
• Print out this hang tag template onto a separate sheet of paper and cut out.
• Place template over folder and hold up to light to center your type.
• Using the template as a guide cut folder.
• Punch hole.
• Thread decorative ribbon though hole and attach to gifts.
Have fun using different types of paper, ribbon and twine. Happy wrapping!

totally rad mix tapes
I don't like to hang onto a lot of things. My father-in-law likes to tease me about heartlessly selling one of my childhood toys for $300 on ebay. But don't you worry, I'll never chuck my super awesome 80's mix tapes.
