surprise gift revealed

I mentioned in this post that I purchased a surprise from Etsy for my little sis. Now that the gift has been given its safe to spill the beans.

She loves to scrapbook so I thought this zipper pouch from Modernradar would hold some of her supplies quite lovely. I also picked up some scrapbook goodies from a local craft store ... which, might I add, match the pouch perfectly. Confession: I color coordinated them on purpose ... I'm such a dork. :)

shiny new shoes

I’m just thrilled to introduce you to the newest member of my shoe family.

(Women's Xhilaration Selena Ruffled Mary Jane Flats – Yellow)

These flats were a holiday gift from my husband. I spotted them while we were at target the first week of December and immediately snatched them up on the spot. Yep … I have anxiously been waiting all month to wear them. :)

If you were curious … I found the polka dot tights on clearance just the other day for $1.50. Hooray! What a find.

You can see more of my beloved shoe children here and here.

Update: Oh my heck! If I had a little girl I would totaly buy her these shoes so we could match.

wishing you a good one

I just wanted to stop by and wish you all a very happy holiday.

Most of my family lives in Utah and those who don't are up visiting. Although I wont be traveling far I will be keeping busy with family stuff so my posts until after the new year may be few and far between.

So ... Here is to wishing you a good one. :)

i made this: number banner

After sharing this current obsession of mine I decided to make one for my sons room. He is soon to turn 1 so I thought adding the numbers 1-10 to the flags would be a nice touch … which will no doubt help him learn to count at an alarming rate. :)

(Ta da! Here is the finished product. A big thanks is in order for my mom who let me raid here fabric collection … once again. ☺)

Want to make one yourself? You are in luck. Keep reading for some easy peasy instructions.

For my numbers I used Showguide from dafont but you can use whatever font tickles you fancy. If you like how mine turned out simply download this printable template and follow the instructions below. Happy crafting!

Flag instructions
1. Print triangle flag and number templates onto 8.5 x 11-inch paper and cut out.
2. Place number templates onto fabric and cut out numbers 1-10.
3. Place flag template onto fabric and cut out 20 flags. (2 sides per flag)
4. To make the front side of the flags pin and sew fabric numbers onto 10 fabric flags.
5. To make the backs of the flags pin and sew fabric flags to the back of the finished front flags. Repeat for all flags.
6. Use pinking shears to cut along the two long sides of each flag.
7. Line up flags in number order. Pin and sew bias tape along top with a zigzag stitch.

Voila!

thank you for the thank yous

Some Christmas gifts I ordered from Paper Source arrived at my doorstep yesterday. I just love getting items other than junk mail and bills in the mail ... especially packages. Along with my order I was excited to find these free thank you cards. Hooray!

(Letterpress thank you cards .... yum!)
Included were two flat notes and two envelopes wrapped in a simple plastic sleeve.

in my tape deck

So what artist are you "stuck on" right now? I am crazy about Ingrid Michaelson ... my husband on the other hand refers to her songs as "sleepy-bye music." At least we both have Paramore in common. :)

yummy holiday tags are here

I created some holiday gift tags to sell at my Etsy shop ... but there is a twist. Instead of buying actual printed tags you purchase a PDF file. This means that you can print as many of these fancy schmancy tags as your heart desires on you home computer. I'm loving this concept and the fact that I don't have to charge shipping fees. :)

(Gumdrops and peppermint ... delicious!)

Check out my shop for more juicy details.
