So Many Choices

Here is another table from Ikea that I am interested in. It is actually intended to be a dining table but from what I can tell on the web it would work fine in my studio.

This Bjorkudden table is constructed of solid birch and is a bit cheaper than the Vika combo I mentioned in my last post. They are two totally different styles ... I think I will have to see them in person to make my final decision.

Ikea Love

I have decided it is time to get a new table for my studio to replace my old one. I really like this one from Ikea.

It is the Vika Fintorp legs and Vika Hyttan top. The table top is stainless steel and the legs are powder-coated steel.

It looks pretty durable and oh so stylish ... gosh I love the vintage feel of the legs. Ikea here I come!

Thank You Gift

Right now I am working on thank you gifts for orders purchased at my Etsy shop. Trying my best to be green I decided to make tags from outdated paper swatchbooks.

I am stamping them with acrylic paint using a handmade stamp and even the packaging will use recycled materials. Once they are all put together I will post some pix.

Environmental Logo quiz

Sappi sponsors a publication called @Issue: Journal of Business and Design that is published by Corporate Design Foundation. In the spring issue, which just arrived in my mailbox yesterday, it focuses on the “innovative ways that companies and institutions are striving to uphold the highest standards of design and sustainability.” Included in this issue is an Environmental logo quiz.

Do you know which mark matches up with which nonprofit environmental organization or government agency? Here are the choices and the answers are in the image below. Have fun and don’t peek :)

Gosh ... I love May

You may be wondering why I love this time of year so much. Well ... it could have something to do with the fact that Mothers day, my birthday and wedding anniversary are all in the same month. My husband spoiled me again and bought me some Gocco supplies just in time for my upcoming birthday. Enough print masters and bulbs for 10 different prints ... yippee. Before now I only had the red, black and gold ink that came with my PG-5 kit but now I have a lot more options in colors as well. I can't wait to get started!

Hooray For Mother's Day!

My husband really spoiled me this year for Mother's day with my very own KitchenAid mixer. Oh la la! Not only did he get me a kick butt mixer but he looked all over for this yellow one. isn't she cute? She has so much more personality than my other kitchen appliances so I decided to name her Betsy and placed her next to my kitchen window where she can enjoy plenty of sunlight. Chocolate chip cookies are on the menu tonight so I decided to ask my pal Martha about making the perfect cookie. Here is what she had to say about the different varieties of chocolate chip cookies including soft and chewy, thin and crispy, cake-like and even a chocolate chip tart. Enjoy!

Sunny Weather

The weather has been pretty dreary until last week. Blah! I am excited to wear my summer skirts with their fun and happy patterns. Below are close up shots of some of them. My husband thinks the first one looks like a row of upside down alien baby heads … but then again it seems like he can find alien faces or UFOs in almost any of my skirts … hmmm.
